Included with this microphone is our advanced, active noise cancellation processor and echo cancellation, activated with simple click of check-box. No difficult to setup adjustments are needed. This is an important feature for Court Reporting and other business recording applications and only has to setup one time!
Attention Court Reporters:
Have you heard claims from other manufacturers that their mics are the best? Try this mic (and theirs if you like), and if you are not 100% convinced that this microphone produces stronger, clearer audio than any other microphone, we will gladly give you a full refund! This is the #1 choice for professional Court Reporters! Over 10,000 Court Reporters in the USA have purchased Sound Professionals USB microphones (and all of our USB mics are made in the USA). Ask other professionals in your field they will tell you how good these microphones really are!
This microphone has amazing amplification and can produce recordings that sound three times as loud (strong) as other USB microphones. The difference in sound level and clarity is dramatic. The advanced active noise filters (which are defeatable if you wish) will greatly reduce unwanted ambient room noises from your recordings.
This microphone also has blue recording indicator light so that you know you are recording audio. No guessing! This microphone also features amplified live audio monitoring with your headphones (even when not recording) to help you hear what is being recorded – so it works like an audio amplifier for you. Do you need to also record the whispering during sidebar conferences? With the addition of an inexpensive extension microphone, plugged into the microphone input on this microphone, you will be able to hear *and* record sidebar conferences with ease!
There are no batteries in this microphone, so you never have to worry about dead batteries during that important trial or deposition! This microphone was designed especially for the professional Court reporter and works with all Audio Sync programs.
Have you “upgraded” your computer recently and found that the audio in the new computer is not as good as your old machine? You are not alone. The built-in microphone on a computer is designed to pick up only the voice of the person sitting in front of the computer (you) and ignore everyone else in the room – exactly the opposite of what you need! This microphone bypasses your computer’s internal soundcard and all of the audio processing is done right inside the microphone. This frees up processing power on your computer to run your software.
For times when you need to be discreet, you can plug the mic right into the computer’s USB port (or USB hub if you are out of ports), or you can use USB cable to move the mic away from your computer it’s up to you. This mic can work either way.
Need more convincing? Don’t take our word for it – see what Eclipse Guru Keith Vincent has to say about it:
Keith Vincent’s court reporter review website (Eclipse)
This microphone is capable of picking up all of the sounds in large room (range of approximately 100 feet) or it can pick up small area its up to you, because you control the amplifier power! This is the first mic I purchased from Sound Professionals. While I believe the 6+ is superior, this is a less expensive alternative. It picks up sound really well and can have another mic plugged into it to blend the audio. It lasted me several years with absolutely no issues. I still have it as my backup to the 6+.

I’m a California CSR, and I have been reporting depositions for 15 years. After years of dealing with fussy external microphones and internal sound cards — it seems as though the newer-model computers are even worse — I decided to try out a USB microphone. This is the BEST quality sound I’ve ever been able to get with my CaseCatalyst AudioSync. It can pick up an atty with a soft-spoken voice at the far end of the conference room making a lengthy objection — yes, we’ve all been there — and somehow seems to eliminate a lot of the background noise. I also use it to playback the testimony. It has a jack where you can plug in a speaker or headphones. Because it bypasses your computer’s sound card, it is much clearer. I absolutely LOVE this microphone. I can’t imagine ever going to another depo without it.P.s. For CaseCatalyst users, adjust the “skip quite noise” level. It’s the diagonal bar next to the speed setting. I brought it all the way down, and it works perfectly.

I am a reporter in New York. I had a microphone from CASE but I decided to try out a USB microphone. This is the BEST quality sound I’ve ever been able to get with my CaseCatalyst AudioSync. I absolutely love this microphone. I can’t imagine ever going to another depo without it. It will work without fussing with the realtime in CASE, with another USB microphone, you have to close out of CASE and reopen CASE and go in the realtime to put the audiosinc back in default to hear your testimony… but with this USB, you never have to worry about that. instead of spending hundreds of dollars and then buying this microphone, do yourself a favor and just buy this one instead.

I’m a court reporter in Northern California. My court reporting software company sold me a mic which I was quite unhappy with. I’ve since purchased two mics from The Sound Professionals. Just bought the SP-USB-HG one. It’s absolutely wonderful – picks up voices from the far end of a very long conference room table. I couldn’t be happier! And the technical support I’ve gotten is invaluable. Everyone there is patient & helpful.

This mike has the best audio quality for sound sync that I have ever used. I use the longest cord I could find, I think it’s a 10 foot USB cable, attached to my Gemini Revolution Grand, and tape down the mike on a nearby desk, in front of the quietest speaker in the room. Then I use a digital recorder with a USB fused in it, for back up. It’s great not to have to use the back up!

This mic is fantastic. I had a few other mics, but none were as great as this one. Worth every penny.

I am a court reporter and have been using this mic for over three years, with not one problem. The recording and sound quality is incredible. I recently purchased a new laptop and Chris at Sound Professionals assisted me with the installation. What a breeze! He was extremely knowledgeable, personable and efficient. Every court reporter to whom I have recommended this mic has also been very satisfied with the mic and the customer service. It is an intelligent purchase, because the amount of time you save in not having to decipher words is enormous. I would never even consider purchasing a mic from anyone else. Their products and customer service are outstanding! Thanks, Chris and SP!

I purchased my first Sound Professions Ultra High Gain Mono/Stereo USB Omnidirectional Microphone in 2012 at a NVRA convention to use as my backup audio file, and am still using the same one today. The sound quality is unbelievable. I have purchased a second one, as I like to have backups of all equipment. This mic has been used on at least 5 computers with excellent results. I had trouble setting up the mic on one computer to get the pristine recording I was accustomed to. One call to Chris at Sound Professionals, he logged on to my computer and had it adjusted in no time. I normally cover depositions, but have covered hearings and arbitrations in large conference rooms. Being able to adjust the recording volume in the large rooms is very helpful and still provides a great recording.

Love how crisp my audio is! I am a new court reporter and was referred to The Sound Professionals through a working reporter. The set up was fairly easy, although I did have a small issue with my laptop locking in the settings I was assigning to my input/output. I called SP’s support & they were able to fix that for me very easily. So thankful for my new microphone!

SP takes computer peripherals and modifies them for specific professional uses. It’s like an external USB drive on steroids! 🙂
