Williams Sound Digi-Wave 400 Overview
Powered by a pair of AAA batteries, the Williams Sound DLR 400 ALK is a receiver that functions as part of the Digi-Wave system, a digital spread-spectrum (DSS) simultaneous two-way wireless communication system. The Digi-Wave communication system allows users to listen and talk to one another wirelessly in a variety of scenarios and is great for use during trainings, presentations, and tours, especially in houses of worship, classrooms, and healthcare facilities. The system makes hearing easier in everyday situations by reducing background noise and compensating for poor room acoustics or distance from the sound source. Its frequency-hopping algorithm avoids interference and is a very secure method of communication.
Every Digi-Wave system includes at least one two-way DLT 400 transceiver (available separately) and one or more receivers (DLR 400 RCH or DLR 400 ALK), depending upon the application. The system is commonly used as an intercom allowing up to six people able to speak simultaneously and even more to listen. It’s also ideal as a human interpretation system that supports one floor language and up to 14 translated languages. Digi-Wave systems are also frequently used with guided tours—with one or more tour guides (2-way), with audience participation (2-way), or without audience participation (1-way listen only). The unit is also backward compatible with the DLT 300 transceiver, but with certain functional limitations.
