I got the Red-Velvet and love them, they are comfy and lightweight

I got the Red-Velvet and love them, they are comfy and lightweight. Didn’t seem to affect sound too much, nothing that really stood out. They replaced the original pads remaining true to the fit, but feel much better. I like them.

These things feel MUCH better than the originals!

Aaaaah, these things feel MUCH better than the originals. They look good with the white M50x.

These feel amazing on the M50x
    Reviewed in the United States

These feel amazing on the M50x. It feels like there’s less of a “seal” but the pillowy softness is worth it to me. No more sweaty ears, either. I don’t notice any sound change, but then again, my ears aren’t as sharp or discerning as some others. There might be some more sound leakage, but at home, I don’t worry about since I have a headphone amp which can compensate for any loss.

30+ Year Record Producer / Headphones Superfreak Says “Get These”
    Reviewed in the United States

These are THE most comfortable headphone pads. I’m in the recording studio 12 hours a day, and use them outside the studio the rest of the time – heck I SLEEP in them most nights, and they prevent my head and ears from getting fatigued and sweaty. In fact, they feel like your head is being massaged. Even more important, they improve the bass response of each set of cans in my Audio Technica ATH-M50x collection ( I have 5 of them.)

Take it from this 30+ year music taste-maker / headphones superfreak . . . these velvet pads are sensational.

Get these and thank me later.

These are the most comfortable ear pads I’ve ever purchased period
    Reviewed in the United States

These are the most comfortable ear pads I’ve ever purchased period. Install was relatively quick and once I put them on… …heavenly. I do a lot of studio mixing and the sound signature was changed slightly. Particularly in the low end. Only audiophiles will notice this at all though and even in my line of business is is not to the level where it is hindering my work in any way. I’m assuming this is attributed to the loss in tightness. I only mention it because there are some sensitive audiophiles out there that will care. There is a slight up curve in the low end and high end of stock M50 headphones and these pads flatten the eq slightly making them sound more akin to the M70 headphones (barely) and for engineering purposes, that’s actually a good thing.

    Color isn’t as bright/rich as anticipated. However……

Color isn’t as bright/rich as anticipated. However, they are light weight and widen the stereo field for sure compared to the stock ones. This is because the material is porous unlike pleather (stock buds). Benefit is an increased/more enjoyable stereo field. It may slightly effect bass, but most likely not that you can tell. The stereo field is worth it alone… Have not mixed with these yet, but for upgrading for sheer listening pleasure/consumer, they rock!

great upgrade that has lasted 4 years and counting
    Reviewed in the United States

Very comfortable, very durable. They don’t stick to the side of your face when it’s hot and they keep my ears cooler actually. They block out a little bit of extra noise and I hardly ever have to clean them. After I installed them, I clean them once a year with a damp rag.

    Good pads
    Reviewed in the United States

Super fast shipping, good quality product. A little tricky to get on but once they’re on they’re on real nice and snug. Comfy and they look classy as hell. I threw out the old pads that came with the M50x a while ago cuz they were just disintegrating so I can’t compare the sound quality, these sound just fine though. My taste in headphones have changed so I’m not a fan of the M50x’s brightness and intense V-shape signature anymore but if you like those headphones, these pads are a great purchase.

    Pretty comfy
    Reviewed in the United States

Nice fuzzy material with the only downside being how easy it can get a lot of lint/fuzz picked up over time. Makes a better seal around ears than the base ATH-M40X cuffs in my opinion and feel comfortable. Hasn’t worn like pleather/leather cuffs but the foamy interior separated a little bit during install. Hasn’t affected anything and is very well secured so, all and all rather pleased. Pics look a bit orange and it does lean that way a tad after some use.

    Great Quality
    Reviewed in the United States

I put these on my headphones (ATH-M50x Bluetooth) to replace the stock pads and tried them as soon as they arrived, and I’m already impressed. Installation was pretty easy, even compared to my old pair of ATH-M50x that didn’t have Bluetooth and went through a lot of ear pads. I think the velvet-like material will last a lot longer than the polyurethane which became cracked after about a year and a half. It surprised me at first because the material feels a lot lighter and more breathable than the polyurethane.

I want to do a direct comparison of stock with these, but my stock ear pads were too damaged and I threw them away. Still, I’ve exclusively used some variation of M50x for years now, as I either haven’t liked other headphones as much or used them to their breaking point, so being used to the usual audio quality, I’d say these are just as good as stock, if not, better. Bass sounds good, maybe even a little more clear, and higher frequencies are just as clear to me.

I’m definitely buying these again, but these ear pads will likely last a very long time before I have to buy replacements. It’s also worth noting that these were packed well for shipping, and they came with a free pen, which is pretty nice.

(My original) ear pads were degrading and flaking off some of the covering. I was happy Sound Professionals offered replacement pads. I’d rather try to repair something or fix something instead of throwing it away, especially if the headphones still work well.

Very clear product description, which helped me identify that these ear pads would work with my older model Audio Technica headphones. Purchasing the product was easy, and I appreciated the clear communications during the shipping process.
