This microphone the best choice for court reporters, musicians, students, business people, voice recognition purposes, Skype communication, VOIP, Podcasting or anyone that needs to get high quality audio into a computer. Included with this microphone is our advanced, active noise cancellation processor and echo cancellation, activated with a simple click of check-box. No difficult to setup adjustments! This is an important feature for Court Reporting and other business recording applications and only has to setup one time!
Attention Court Reporters:
Have you heard claims from other manufacturers that their mics are the best? Try this mic (and theirs if you like), and if you are not 100% convinced that this microphone produces stronger, clearer audio than any other microphone, we will gladly give you a full refund! This is the #1 choice for professional Court Reporters! Over 10,000 Court Reporters in the USA have purchased Sound Professionals USB microphones (and all of our USB mics are made in the USA). Ask other professionals in your field they will tell you how good these microphones really are!
This microphone has amazing amplification and can produce recordings that sound three times as loud (strong) as other USB microphones. The difference in sound level and clarity is dramatic. The advanced active noise filters (which are defeatable if you wish) will greatly reduce unwanted ambient room noises from your recordings.
This microphone also has blue recording indicator light so that you know you are recording audio. No guessing! This microphone also features amplified live audio monitoring with your headphones (even when not recording) to help you hear what is being recorded – so it works like an audio amplifier for you. Do you need to also record the whispering during sidebar conferences? With the addition of an inexpensive extension microphone, plugged into the microphone input on this microphone, you will be able to hear *and* record sidebar conferences with ease!
There are no batteries in this microphone, so you never have to worry about dead batteries during that important trial or deposition! This microphone was designed especially for the professional Court reporter and works with all Audio Sync programs.
Have you “upgraded” your computer recently and found that the audio in the new computer is not as good as your old machine? You are not alone. The built-in microphone on a computer is designed to pick up only the voice of the person sitting in front of the computer (you) and ignore everyone else in the room – exactly the opposite of what you need! This microphone bypasses your computer’s internal soundcard and all of the audio processing is done right inside the microphone. This frees up processing power on your computer to run your software.
For times when you need to be discreet, you can plug the mic right into the computer’s USB port (or USB hub if you are out of ports), or you can use USB cable to move the mic away from your computer it’s up to you. This mic can work either way.
Need more convincing? Don’t take our word for it – see what Eclipse Guru Keith Vincent has to say about it:

I’m a court reporter and I recently got a new computer and the audio was terrible. A coworker mentioned this product. We work in court and she said that it was like the litigants were sitting on her lap. She was NOT kidding! This mic works so well!! I would highly recommend it! It’s worth every penny.

I’ve lost count how many SP mikes I’ve had. As I had my prior drivers installed, all I had to do was pop it in and it worked fine. Highly recommend.

I always recommend these mics to my court reporters. Easy to deal with and the ordering process is quick and painless.

Though I’ve only used it once, I’m pleased with my product. I look forward to using it regularly.

Sound Professionals are the best to work with. Any help I need, they are there. The microphone, the headset and the Zoom kit are all well worth it!!!!!!

I am very happy with this product and I also really appreciate the support that you get when you order from Sound Professionals. I also have a Martel, but I like how I can build on to and customize this particular mic for any future needs.

I’ve used this external mic for over ten years and wouldn’t work without it. I got a second setup for home and gladly bought another Enid setup for my new computer.

I purchased my first Sound Professionals USB Mic in 2012. (I believe that’s one of the original ones)
It’s an awesome microphone, and after testing it for a bit, purchased another one as a backup. Those mics are still working today. I’ve just purchased the new Model-6 plus USB (and a backup) to use with my new laptop. This is where I go when I need any accessory for my laptop sound configurations. All of the Sound Professional products I’m using, as well as their customer service, have been exceptional.

This mic is easy to use, the directions are clear and concise, and tech support is awesome. I would highly recommend this to any court reporting professional.

So far so good! Picks up sound in large courtrooms however there is some echo but that’s probably expected. Will be purchasing more products in the near future.
SoundPro Tech note: Echo can be removed by engaging the Eco cancellation filter in the Audio Commander.

This mic was recommended by a friend, and I could not be happier. The sound is amazing. I would highly recommend the Model 6+!

I work as an official court reporter, and I wish I would have purchased this microphone YEARS ago. Instead of spending the money one time and being satisfied with this superior product, I probably spent three times as much on other microphones that just didn’t work as well.
This has made my job so much easier when I have to rely on audio. The sound quality is superb.
I would highly recommend!

I recently purchased the USB Model 6-plus, and I absolutely love it! It’s inconspicuous! I’m a stenographer, and my first job after purchasing this microphone was a deposition in a very large room with many attorneys and the air conditioning running. This mini microphone picked up everyone who spoke and filtered out all of the background noise, including the AC. I highly recommend the Model 6-plus!

SP takes computer peripherals and modifies them for specific professional uses. It’s like an external USB drive on steroids! 🙂

This is a game changer for sure! My laptop microphone was okay but not great. I’m a court reporter and now don’t even need my digital recorder as everything is crystal clear.

I own the USB mike 6 plus and just purchased the USB mike 8. I’m very happy with both products. The 8 is a lower cost and it’s great. The sound quality is very noticeably better with the 6 plus, though. It justifies the increased cost.

Best microphone that I know of for court reporters! My website

Great microphone. This company is wonderful and will help you on the spot.

This mic is worth every penny! Yes, it’s significantly better than the 6. I had the 6 and replaced it with this mic after hearing it picked up softer voices better and had less background noise. It does not disappoint. I use it in my courtroom every week, which is a large room. I love that I can plug the Boundary mic into it and blend both recordings. My only very minor quip would be that the plastic tries to separate a little bit on one end. I used electrical tape on it just to make sure it wouldn’t come apart.
So Cal Reporter –
This is the only microphone I use for work. It has good volume, good quality recording, and I like the amplification feature to plug an earbud in to monitor or amplify sound in the room. One small complaint is that the USB plug does not fit all the way into the laptop port. So, therefore, the mic is a little wobbly, and it seems like it would be prone to damage if it accidentally got tugged in one direction or the other by the earbud wire. (Soundpro tech note: the depth that the usb plug goes into the computer will vary from one computer to another – this is normal)

I’m a court reporter in Northern California. My court reporting software company sold me a mic which I was quite unhappy with. I’ve since purchased two mics from The Sound Professionals. Just bought the SP-USB-HG one. It’s absolutely wonderful – picks up voices from the far end of a very long conference room table. I couldn’t be happier! And the technical support I’ve gotten is invaluable. Everyone there is patient & helpful.

I am a reporter in New York. I had a microphone from CASE but I decided to try out a USB microphone. This is the BEST quality sound I’ve ever been able to get with my CaseCatalyst AudioSync. I absolutely love this microphone. I can’t imagine ever going to another depo without it. It will work without fussing with the realtime in CASE, with another USB microphone, you have to close out of CASE and reopen CASE and go in the realtime to put the audiosinc back in default to hear your testimony… but with this USB, you never have to worry about that. instead of spending hundreds of dollars and then buying this microphone, do yourself a favor and just buy this one instead.

I’m a California CSR, and I have been reporting depositions for 15 years. After years of dealing with fussy external microphones and internal sound cards — it seems as though the newer-model computers are even worse — I decided to try out a USB microphone. This is the BEST quality sound I’ve ever been able to get with my CaseCatalyst AudioSync. It can pick up an atty with a soft-spoken voice at the far end of the conference room making a lengthy objection — yes, we’ve all been there — and somehow seems to eliminate a lot of the background noise. I also use it to playback the testimony. It has a jack where you can plug in a speaker or headphones. Because it bypasses your computer’s sound card, it is much clearer. I absolutely LOVE this microphone. I can’t imagine ever going to another depo without it. P.s. For CaseCatalyst users, adjust the “skip quite noise” level. It’s the diagonal bar next to the speed setting. I brought it all the way down, and it works perfectly.

This mic is fantastic. I had a few other mics, but none were as great as this one. Worth every penny.

I am a court reporter and have been using this mic for over three years, with not one problem. The recording and sound quality is incredible. I recently purchased a new laptop and Chris at Sound Professionals assisted me with the installation. What a breeze! He was extremely knowledgeable, personable and efficient. Every court reporter to whom I have recommended this mic has also been very satisfied with the mic and the customer service. It is an intelligent purchase, because the amount of time you save in not having to decipher words is enormous. I would never even consider purchasing a mic from anyone else. Their products and customer service are outstanding! Thanks, Chris and SP!
